Man of Steel had its’ United States and United Kingdom release.

The movie starred British actor Henry Cavill (best known up until then as Charles Brandon on the hit TV series The Tudors), in addition to Russell Crowe (as Superman’s father Jor-El), Kevin Costner (Jonathan Kent), Amy Adams (Lois Lane), Diane Lane (Martha Kent), and Michael Shannon (General Zod). The movie was directed by Zack Snyder (who directed one of my all-time favorites 300) with a score by Hans Zimmer (the composer for Gladiator).

Worldwide box office: approximately $668 million (USD).
