July 2008 Update
July 17th, 2008Greetings one and all!
Sharon Ferguson, webmaster, here…first of all, my apologies for the delayed update this go around. You would think summer would free things up to the point where we’d have the time to get more done, but life seems to just get more hectic. Thank you all so much for your submissions and your patience! We’ve had such a grand time reading through them and getting them ready to go up! So without FURTHER delay, I bring you:
Crowe’s Point:
Meggie Ward is our newest arrival at the Point with her AE Bethanie Fischer’s story “Somewhere In Between Here & Gone” - can this be love for Jeffrey Wigand? Welcome to the Point, Meggie!
Layne Richards’ AE Rebekah Logan returns to the Point in chapter 2, drawn by a “Bad Connection“, one she has difficulty explaining to herself, much less to the residents. How will Ben respond?
Tina continues development of the new life that Adalia Robinavich, the Point’s gourmand chef, is leading in “Love is a Many Splendored Thing.” Who is the man that will win her heart?
Also by Tina - a very serious complication for John Biebe’s wife begins in the spring of 2006 - “Benign Confusion.”
Chloe Navratil finds herself at the hospitality of quite a few of the Boyz in Chapter Three of “Ashokan Falls” - but the one that turns out the most appealing is the one who is not part of the crowd at all.
In our Singles Section:
Taffey gives us two new stories for our Single Character Section:
“His Maker Can Wait” takes us back into the dusty streets with our beloved erstwhile gunslinger, Preacher Cort
“The Princess” - Jack Aubrey finds himself at odds with a rather pampered bitch.
Kaz also gives us Chapter Five of her popular story featuring our favorite SAS man, Terry Thorne - “The Price of Freedom”
Scarlet, a newcomer to the Gaslight, gives us “Can I Touch You?” a Hando-centered piece.
Layne Richards presents Ben Wade with an “Unexpected Opportunity”
Jo Anzalone, of Libris Crowe, offers two singles, one entitled “Ritchie Roberts 6.7” the nanobot-generated creature known as SID 6.7 finds a way to exact revenge upon Denzel/Parker; and the first chapter of “A Thorne Remaining,” a haunting romance.
In Multiple Characters:
Jo Anzalone & Sharon Ferguson bring to us the story that instigated the ongoing saga of the characters that inhabit NanoCorp SubSIDiaries, Inc. “If It Were Not So.” Many people dream of getting into the movies. At NanoCorp, you get exactly that.
Also a part of the NanoCorp series, three more chapters to the cross-over piece “X Proof” 4,5, & 6 - The FBI’s most unwanted agents find out some very interesting things about the men who run NanoCorp, and Terry finally reveals to Deidre the motivations behind his continued presence at the company.
For our Challenges
Tina adds another chapter to her ongoing Point adaptation of the movie “Laura.”
Other mentions:
A new Wikipedia site called Fan History has begun as a compendium for the various media that have gained fandom, and Russell Crowe has his very own page with the various links of known fan sites, including the Gaslight and others you may be familiar with. The link to this really cool site has been added to our links page.
Tina has also generated quite a bit of corresponding information to go along with her stories centered around Adalia - in the Miscellaneous section, under “Adalia’s Kitchen” a list of the recipes that she uses in her Shabbat meals. This page has a lot of potential for some interesting contributions!
One final note: the contacts page has been updated to list the most recent and active emails for the people who run the Gaslight Gateway. If you have questions about anything on the site, please feel free to contact one of the emails there!
Please sit back and enjoy our stories and if you should happen to be inspired to join our group, let one of us know and we can ‘point’ the way! (All right, you know I had to make a pun of it somewhere. Jack would approve!)
Best regards,
Your ever-tinkering,
Sharon
